Alliant International University, accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), offers two focused 60-credit online master’s programs in counseling delivered through its California School of Professional Psychology. These include the MA in clinical counseling and the MA in marital and family therapy.
Founded in 1969, the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) has educated over 16,000 students in psychology. The clinical counseling track equips students with practical skills to support individuals and groups through hands-on 700-hour internships. Graduates are set for California Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) licensure after completing 3,000 post-degree supervised hours and passing exams. Students in the clinical counseling track will be required to attend two required residencies.
Likewise, the MFT program trains therapists to strengthen family bonds and mental health across varied household structures, with 300 hours of direct client contact, 100 supervision hours, and at least 100 professional development hours (totaling 600 to 1,300 hours toward licensure), plus an optional CAADE-accredited chemical dependency track embedded in internships at treatment centers. Graduates of the MFT track are prepared for licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
The school is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). There are campuses in Los Angeles, Irvine, Sacramento, Fresno, and San Diego, California. The MA in clinical counseling is CACREP-accredited, and the MA in marital and family therapy is COAMFTE-accredited.

For programs with variable tuition rates, we use the rates for part-time students. “Resident” and “non-resident” refer to the student’s school-recognized state residency status. Tuition number represents the cost of tuition for the entire program, not per semester or year. Estimated total tuition does not include additional fees.
