The MEd in counseling development with a clinical mental health concentration equips students to help people address life-interfering issues through concentration courses such as foundations and ethical issues in community mental health and clinical mental health program planning, consulting, and supervision.
The MEd in counseling development with school counseling concentration readies students to support P-12 academic, career, and personal/social/emotional growth through concentration courses, including foundations and ethical issues in school counseling and school planning, consulting, and supervision.
Admission requires official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate coursework, a resume, one professional reference, a virtual graded interview with the graduate program director or designated faculty, a brief statement of purpose explaining pursuit of counseling and field fit, a background check, and an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Winthrop University is located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Its master’s in counseling program holds accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
