East Texas A&M University Online Master’s in Counseling Program

East Texas A&M University offers an online master of education (MEd) in counseling with a student affairs emphasis, designed for students who want flexible study options and training for counseling, student affairs, and school-based careers.

The program focuses on counseling theory, assessment, ethics, multicultural competence, career development, and field experience. The student affairs emphasis is fully online and prepares students for work in higher education student services.

The MEd in counseling with a student affairs emphasis is a 30-credit online program that prepares students for roles in higher education student services, academic advising, and career services. It focuses on student development, crisis intervention, multicultural competence, and program development. Key courses include introduction to college student affairs; career development; student affairs services in higher education; assessment and treatment of chemical dependency; social, cultural, and family issues; and an internship in college student affairs.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and submit an application, official transcripts, a resume or CV, a counseling essay, and three references. The program is not currently available to international students.
