Springfield College Online Master’s in Counseling Programs
Springfield College offers the master of education in clinical mental health counseling and the master of education in rehabilitation counseling. Both programs are designed for students who want strong clinical training, flexible study options, and preparation for professional counseling careers.

The MEd in clinical mental health counseling prepares students for licensure and work in mental health settings. The program includes counseling theory, assessment, diversity, ethics, and clinical training. Important courses include foundations of clinical mental health counseling; counseling practicum; internship in clinical mental health counseling; trauma and crisis counseling; and clinical seminar. Students complete practicum and internship hours while building clinical skills under supervision.
The MEd in rehabilitation counseling prepares students to work with people with disabilities in rehabilitation, educational, and community settings. The program focuses on advocacy, independent living, vocational support, and quality of life. Important courses include foundations of rehabilitation counseling; medical and psychosocial aspects of disability; vocational rehabilitation and job placement; rehabilitation counseling practicum; and internship in rehabilitation counseling. Graduates are also prepared for the national Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) exam.
Admission requirements for both programs include an online application, an essay, a resume, two letters of recommendation, an interview, and official transcripts from every college or university attended. International applicants must also provide proof of English proficiency and, if needed, an English credential evaluation. The college also requires applicants to describe their life experiences, career goals, and reasons for choosing Springfield College.
